EcoFest: ArMI Thursday Weedout

ArMI Thursday Weekly Weedouts Throughout the growing season we will focus on garlic mustard removal in early spring, and by June work on black swallow-wort, bittersweet nightshade, knotweed, and bittersweet as they emerge. We will also move around to various spots in the parks and bike path depending on which areas need work. When & Where: Thursday April 11, 1-3pm;  (This event will continue April 18 - May 30 at Ed Burns Arena 10am-12pm) -Thereafter, the location may change as different invasives emerge through October. April 11-May 30 - In June we may switch locations to the Bike Stop Pink Plant site, Turkey Hill, or Hill's Hill to tackle black swallow-wort.  Bring:  water, a black bag, tools, if you have them WEAR: sturdy gloves - protective clothing & hat -  eye protection - tick repellent - sun block Tools:  Hand trowel - hand pruners - rake - weeding knife | For woody invasives like bittersweet: loppers - bow or garden saw -shovel -  (weed wrench or equivalent may be used at specific events)
